Suns with Moustaches
I’ll never forget the first time I saw a sun with a moustache.
It was in India, of course.
First in Udaipur’s extravagant City Palace. In at least a few different places.
Then, wondrously on a random wall in Jodphur, the Blue City.
I must admit that soon thereafter, I became slightly obsessed with finding and taking pics of as many golden faces with moustaches as I could find in Rajasthan.
Sometimes I would see a sun beckoning me in the distance and get super excited at the thought of the hairy adornment I would find painted upon it, only to be crushed upon discovering nary a furry filament on closer examination.
If a lot of time passed between moustached sun sightings, I became deflated and desperate and started taking pictures of anything with a moustache.
It helped. Kind of.
When we left Jaipur, bound for Agra and the Taj Mahal, my shining quest came to a sad end. No more mustachio for me. 😦
Have you ever seen a sun with a moustache? Where was it? Did you become obsessed like I did?
