xFyro ANC Pro wireless earbuds

At first glance, the xFyro ANC Pro earbuds look an awful lot like an all-black version of the original Apple AirPods. Like the Pro version of their predecessor, they’re lightweight, wireless earbuds, that are shockproof and water resistant, with active noise cancelling.

But there are some important differences, that are worth a second look. I’ll do that, and more in this xFyro ANC Pro review.

What are xFyro ANC Pro Earbuds?

xFyro is a company that specializes in premium audio gadgets at a reasonable price. From fully waterproof and submergible earphones (xS2), to floating, waterproof speakers (ORION) – you can count on them for the latest advancements in audio technology.

The xFyro ANC Pro earbuds are no different. They’re the first “smart” earphones to be powered by artificial intelligence, with an industry topping 100-hour battery life. Don’t worry, if you don’t know what that means. You’re not alone. I’ll explain in more detail further down in this xFyro ANC Pro review, under Key Features.

xFyro ANC Pro Design

The xFyro ANC Pro are wireless inner-ear canal earbuds, with a soft ear tip. They look very similar to the original Apple AirPods, except they have a longer rod attached.

The surface of the earbuds is smooth and seamless, with a matte black finish. The soft ear tips are designed by ergonomic engineers to be ultra-comfortable and stay in place using the grooves of the ear itself.

xFyro ANC Pro earbuds come with a charging case, cable, and extra ear tips.

They come with a matching black carrying / charging case, which feels super solid, and has a lid that snaps tightly closed. The xFryo ANC Pro earbuds also lock magnetically into place for charging inside the case.

xFyro ANC Pro | Key Features

The xFyro ANC Pro wireless earbuds are packed with features. I’ll run them down here, as well as I can. If you want to skip all the techno-babble and jump straight to the review, you can do that right here.

AI-Powered Active Noise Cancelling (ANC)

If you’re asking yourself what the heck AI-Powered ANC is, you’re not alone. It took me a bit of time, not only to figure out the acronyms, but also to wrap my head around this whole concept.

The ANC stands for active noise cancelling, and the AI refers to artificial intelligence.

No, this doesn’t mean that little robots are controlling your headphones. It means that there’s an algorithm built into the xFyro ANC Pro earbuds,  that “listens” and categorizes over 6000 different sounds. Important sounds like voices and alarms reach your ears, but unimportant (read annoying) sounds like ambient noise are intercepted and cancelled by the AI.

The AI-powered active noise cancelling is only activated while in Transparency Mode on the xFyro ANC Pro earbuds.

100-hour Battery Life

xFyro claims that their ANC Pro earbuds have an incredible 100-hour battery life. That’s 10 hours on a single charge + another 90 hours with the carrying case.

I obviously didn’t wear my ANC Pro earbuds for 100 hours straight. That would be next to impossible. But I did watch a ton of movies, travel all over Seoul for weeks at a time, and exercise without even thinking about charging them.

So while I don’t have definitive proof that they actually last 100 hours – I can say with certainty that they’re the longest lasting headphones I’ve ever owned. By far.

xFyro ANC Pro wireless earbuds

It only takes 15 minutes for these earbuds to charge to full.

When you do have to charge them, it only takes a short 15 minutes in the carrying case for the earbuds to charge to full power. Pretty damn impressive if you ask me.

IPX5 Water-Resistant and Shockproof

Unlike xFyro’s xS2 earbuds, the ANC Pros aren’t 100% waterproof. They’re IPX5 rated, meaning that they can handle sustained sprays of high-pressure water.

In real terms, this means that you can wear them in pretty much any environment – whether it’s a monsoon in Seoul, or a sweaty workout at the gym – without worrying about them malfunctioning.

Rainy weather is no match for the xFyro ANC Pro earbuds.

To add to their weather-proofing capacity, xFyro ANC Pro wireless earbuds are uniform, sealed, and touch-controlled. That means that not a single speck of dust or small bit of debris is getting inside them to cause any damage.

Graphene Drivers

Graphene is a recently discovered substance, that’s super thin, flexible, and over 40x stronger than a diamond. It’s the strongest material on the planet – and it happens to be the stuff used to make xFyro ANC Pro’s drivers.

That means that these drivers will never degrade or get damaged from the vibration caused at high volumes. And they’re able to deliver clearer, louder sound than is typical in earbuds.

I definitely noticed this the first time I plugged the xFyro ANC Pro wireless earbuds into my ears. I found the sound to be richer and warmer than what I was used to with my other earphones. The audio quality was more on par with my over-ear Bose QC35 headphones.

xFyro ANC Pro Review

I live in Seoul, South Korea – one of the biggest, noisiest, most crowded megacities on earth. Noise-cancelling headphones are pretty much essential when you live in this kind of setting, so I was super excited to test out the xFyro ANC Pro earbuds.

I should tell you that while I love my music, I’m no audiophile. So while I may go into a few tech-type specs, this review is from the perspective of an average mom, who happens to live life in an intensely busy, urban environment.

I wore these earbuds for 3 months straight, and tested them in various every day situations, before writing my xFyro ANC Pro review.

Best Uses for xFyro ANC Pro Earbuds

These are the ultimate hassle-free earbuds, so you could literally use them anywhere. However, there are a few situations they’re really perfect for, due to their unique features.

Travel

Until now, I’ve used my Bose over ear headphones on long flights, but it’s obvious that the xFyro ANC Pros are going to be a lot better for traveling.

The 100 hour battery life ideal for long flights!

Imagine being on a long flight, without worrying about charging your headphones for 100 hours. That’s pretty convenient if you ask me. Add in the totally excellent noise-cancelling, and the fact that they’re wireless, and these are a real winner for anyone looking for a good pair of earbuds for travel.

Commuting

I don’t have a car, so I spend A LOT of time commuting around Seoul via public transit. I’m pretty sure there’s nothing more annoying than listening to other people’s conversations or tinny second-hand music, when you’re just trying to go about your day.

xFyro ANC Pro’s noise-cancelling cocoon of silence is so good, it’s literally saved my sanity on busy subway and bus rides.

xFyro ANC Pro wireless earbud touch control

The xFryo ANC Pro wireless earbuds are touch-controlled.

On the other hand, if I’m riding around town on my bicycle or walking, I pop the headphones into AI Transparency mode using the touch controls. It’s safer, because I can always hear if some rogue scooter is driving up behind me on the sidewalk (yes, this actually happens a lot in Seoul).

Exercising and Outdoors

Since the xFyro ANC Pro earbuds are IPX5 rated, they’re resistant to major water sprays, like heavy rain or sweat. This is ideal for outdoor activities like jogging or hiking. They’re also shockproof and dust-proof, which adds an extra layer of mental comfort.

The other thing I liked about these while exercising, is the snug and comfortable fit. They felt weightless, but I never worried about them falling out of my ears.

xFyro ANC Pro Review | What I Liked

Excellent Noise Cancelling: As an introvert that gets easily annoyed by ambient noise or people chatting, let’s just all agree that the invention of noise cancellation in headphones was life-changing for me.

I literally felt wrapped in my own cocoon of music, away from all the noisy irritations of life. In fact, they were MUCH better at blocking sound than my Apple Airpod Pros… which is not that surprising given that the xFryro earbuds have 30dB of ANC power vs AirPod Pro’s 20dB of ANC power.

100 Hour Battery Life: The 100 hour battery life is second to none. I literally carried the xFyro ANC Pro wireless earbuds in my bag for weeks at a time without even thinking about charging them.

AI Powered ANC in Transparency Mode: The xFyro AI powered ANC lets you listen to your tunes, while still being aware of the world around you. I never had to remove the earbuds for any interaction while in Transparency Mode.

Studio quality sound: I personally loved the audio quality, which I found to be warm, full and rich.

Touch Controls: It was super easy to toggle between ANC Mode and Transparency Mode with the touch of my finger. I also appreciated the clear voice prompt in my ear, distinguishing when I had switched modes.

Instant pairing: Pairing my xFyro ANC Pro earbuds to every single one of my devices – whether Apple or Android – was a total breeze.

Hassle free and low stress: These earbuds are dust proof, shock proof, and have IPX5 waterproofing, so I never worried about the elements when running or going about my day. The earbuds also fit comfortably in my ears and never fell out.

Affordable cost: To get noise-cancelling and similar features in premium headphones like AirPod Pros, I’d have to spend around $250. The xFyro ANC Pro wth AI-powered noise cancelling and much more can be had for less than $100 (on sale).

xFyro ANC Pro Review | What I Didn’t Like

The things I didn’t like about the xFyro ANC Pro wireless earbuds were more aesthetic than technical.

Exterior finish: The exterior finish on both the earbuds and charging case felt a little cheap to me at first. Now, I realize the finish is matte and seamless to keep the xFyro ANC Pro’s fully protected from the elements, but to be totally honest, it was a bit off-putting initially.

Slippery: The matte, no seam finish used on the xFyro ANC Pro earbuds made them pretty slippery and difficult to grasp. I had to grip the soft ear tip itself to get them out of the charging case (mostly due to how strongly the earbuds lock magnetically into the case).

Short charging cable: It is really, really, really short.

xFyro ANC Pro vs Apple Airpod Pro

I already have 2 sets of noise cancelling headphones – the Bose wired QC35, and the Apple AirPod Pros. It was next to impossible not to compare the xFyro ANC Pro wireless earbuds to them both while reviewing them.

xFyro ANC Pro wireless earbuds vs apple airpod pro

xFyro ANC Pros and Apple AirPod Pros have important differences.

Suffice it to say, I’ve been using my xFyro ANC Pro earbuds pretty exclusively since I received them. Here’s a side-by-side comparison of the xFyro ANC Pro earbuds vs the Apple Airpod Pros (since they’re most similar), to provide some insight into why.

xFyro ANC Pro

1
Design Seamless, all black, inner-ear canal earbuds with soft tips, and a long rod. Similar in appearance to the original Apple Airpods.
2
Noise Cancelling With 30dB of power, the active noise cancellation on the xFyro ANC Pro was incredible. I literally felt like I was in a cocoon when this mode was activated - even on the super busy streets of Seoul!
3
Battery Life 10 hours on a single charge. 100 hours with the case.
4
Waterproofing IPX5 rated: can resist a sustained, high-pressure water jet spray.
5
Audio Technology graphene drivers, artificial intelligence powered active noise cancellation, and transparency mode.

Apple Airpods Pro

1
Design White and silver, inner-ear canal earbuds with soft tips, and a short, low profile rod.
2
Noise Cancelling With 20dB of power on the Apple Airpod Pros, noise cancellation isn't great. I can't hear much difference between Transparency and Noise Cancelling Mode. They are, in fact, the worst performing of my 3 noise cancelling earphones.
3
Battery Life 4.5 hours on a single charge. 24 hours with the MagSafe charging case.
4
Waterproofing IPX4 rated: resistant to water splashes from any direction.
5
Audio Technology high-excursion Apple drivers, active noise cancellation, and transparency mode.

Should you buy the xFyro ANC Pro Earbuds?

While xFyro ANC Pro earbuds don’t have the same brand value as a set of Apple AirPod Pros, they beat them on almost every measurable technological specification. They’re practically waterproof, have better noise cancelling capacity, warm, rich sound quality, and an industry-topping battery life.

xFyro ANC Pro wireless earbuds

I ended up using the xFyro ANC Pro earbuds more than either of my other 2 noise-cancelling earphones.

Over my 3 months of testing, I found the ANC Pro earbuds to be incredibly useful and convenient for life in a busy city. They were so good and practical, I ended up using them way more than my more expensive Apple AirPod Pros and Bose QC35s.

If you’re in the market for noise-cancelling wireless earbuds that won’t break the bank, while still offering premium features, the xFyro ANC Pros are a good bet.

xFyro ANC Pro | Final Thoughts

Bottom Line: xFyro ANC Pro wireless earbuds deliver state of the art features like AI powered active noise cancelling, superb audio quality, IPX5 waterproofing, and 100 hour battery life, at half the price of other premium brands.
