Ten Moons Resort is one of the most popular places to stay in all of Koh Lipe. It’s usually fully booked out months in advance, even during non-peak travel seasons. There’s very good reason for this.

Where is Ten Moons Lipe Resort located?
Ten Moons Lipe Resort is located on Sunrise Beach in Koh Lipe, Thailand. This is a small boomerang shaped island near the Malay / Thai border in Satun Province.

Sunrise Beach itself stretches across the calm east coast of the island. This 800-metre stretch of sand, has a wide, shallow bay, a gentle slope into the sea, and coral reefs starting just a few metres away from the beach. It’s literally perfect for kids!
Koh Lipe is close to the protected Tarutao National Marine Park, so it’s ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling.

My Experience at Ten Moons Lipe Resort in Thailand
I spent 5 absolutely magical days and nights at Ten Moons Lipe Resort in Thailand, with my 3 year old daughter. In my opinion, this is the best beachfront, family-friendly hotel on Sunrise Beach… and maybe even on all of Koh Lipe.
The only bad thing about this place was that it was fully reserved in LOW season, and I couldn’t extend our stay!
We adored our time at Ten Moons Lipe Resort in Thailand.
We traveled at the end of September, at the very beginning of shoulder season. Our trip coincided with a huge rainstorm and a lot of wind, which made the boat ride from Pak Bara Pier on the mainland to Koh Lipe super stressful (and maybe even a little dangerous).
We arrived at Sunrise Beach wet, cold, shivering, and a little traumatized to be perfectly honest. That ferry ride was NOT pleasant.
The water didn’t look overly treacherous when we started our journey to Koh Lipe.
When we thankfully made it to Koh Lipe, the staff and owner of Ten Moons Lipe Resort were waiting on Sunrise Beach to greet us. They rushed out into the water to meet our longtail boat, take our bags, and dry us off with big, fluffy towels. To say we felt immediately taken care of at the resort is an understatement.
Who wouldn’t want to extend their stay on gorgeous Sunrise beach?
We had a wonderful time at Ten Moons Resort in Koh Lipe, enjoying the pristine beach, gorgeous water, and magical sunrises. It’s one place I wished we could’ve stayed a lot longer!
Why Ten Moons Lipe Resort is Perfect for Families
There are a ton of places to stay on Koh Lipe, but Ten Moons is special. Here’s what I adored about the resort.
We spent an idyllic 5 nights at Ten Moons Resort.
It has the best location on Sunrise Beach
Ten Moons Lipe Resort has one of the best locations in Koh Lipe. It’s at the very south end of Sunrise Beach, where the sand is the softest, and the water is the calmest. Every day, the staff grooms the private beach to make sure it’s perfect for guests.
It’s easy to find shade on gorgeous Sunrise Beach.
There’s also plentiful trees to get some shade if you need it… something I definitely appreciated as a mom.
This is considered the quietest part of Sunrise Beach, and there are very few noisy long tail boats coming and going from this area.
The south end of Sunrise Beach is quiet perfection.
Ten Moons Lipe Resort is located just a 10 minute walk over the hill from busy Koh Lipe Walking Street and Pattaya Beach. It’s super easy to stroll over and enjoy the concentration of restaurants, spas, cafes and beach bars in those areas.
But equally as great to leave and head back to the peace and serenity of Sunrise Beach for a good night’s rest.
The banana pancakes and fruit shakes of Koh Lipe Walking Street are just 10 minutes from Ten Moons.
For parents who are wondering about the walk from Ten Moons Resort to Walking Street with small children, don’t stress. I made this stroll many nights with my daughter, and she was able to manage it with no issues, even in rainy season.
Every bungalow has a gorgeous sea view
There are 3 types of bungalows available at Ten Moons Lipe Resort, and each has views of the Andaman Sea from various vantage points.

Each bungalow is designed for comfort and equipped with everything needed for a stress-free stay. Aside from sea views, private balconies, and king size beds, you can also expect daily housekeeping, an extra sofa bed, 24/7 wifi, A/C, Smart TV, fridge, and other amenities in the room.
Ten Rooms also provides beach towels and has snorkeling gear available for hotel guests.
Beachfront Bungalow
These bungalows are literally built right next to the sand and steps from the sea. These are the bungalows to book if you love to fall asleep to the serene sound of water. You’ll be able to watch the famed sunrise that the beach is named for, just by rolling out of bed.
Not a bad view to wake up to at all
The beachfront bungalows are the most expensive rooms at Ten Moons Resort, but also the most popular. You’ll have to reserve very early to get one!
Garden Seaview Bungalow
The Garden Seaview Bungalows are set a further back from the beach, but they’re still incredibly close – just 10 metres away. Views of the sea are not as unobstructed as in the Beachfront Bungalows, but you’ll still be close enough to smell the salty air.
Grandview Bungalow
If you love panoramic views of the water, the Grandview Bungalows at Ten Moons are the ones to book. These are also the most affordable bungalows (and easiest) to reserve at the Resort, because there are more of them, set up the hill above Sunrise Beach.

This is where we stayed during our visit to Koh Lipe. I loved sitting on our private balcony and relaxing, while drinking in the incredible landscape and turquoise waters beneath me.
Morning coffee is delicious and breakfast is included
If you’re someone that lives and dies by morning coffee like I am, Ten Moons Resort will make you very happy. Leisurely sipping a latte with the sights and sounds of the turquoise sea in front of me was definitely a highlight.
Every reservation at Ten Moons Lipe Resort includes a delicious breakfast, with either Western or Thai choices. Starting each day by meandering down from our bungalow to eat a delicious breakfast made mornings in Koh Lipe easy and convenient, especially while traveling with a hungry toddler.

Kids under 8 stay FREE
If you’re traveling with younger children, you’ll be happy to know that Ten Moons doesn’t charge extra for kids under 8. There’s a sofa bed in each bungalow that 2 children can sleep on, and extra cots are available should you require one.
Breakfast is included free of charge for kids under 8 too!

The staff is super helpful and it’s family-friendly
In my experience, customer service in Thailand is always friendly, but the staff at Ten Moons took it to another level. They were always warm, smiling and ready to help with whatever we needed.

The staff were especially great with my 3 year old daughter. They gave us access to a box of free sand toys, and even offered to take care of her, so I could enjoy some unfettered time on the beach. As any parent of a toddler knows, this is a BIG deal. 😉
They make a mean paella
Ten Moons Lipe Resort has a restaurant on site, where you can get a huge range of dishes. From Thai favourites to burgers to sushi, you’re sure to find something to satisfy the bellies of every single person in your family.
From Western to Thai, Ten Moons Lipe Resort has it all.
Do yourself a favour though, and place an order for their paella 24 hours in advance. It’s worth it, and after all, the chef at Ten Moons Lipe Resort IS Spanish.

Who should stay at Ten Moons Lipe Resort
Ten Moons Lipe Resort is ideal for families, couples, or anyone after a peaceful feeling and idyllic beach. The water here is very calm, clean, and shallow, so it’s safe for young children to explore comfortably. It’s even possible to see small sea life just by walking a few steps into the sea.
If you’re a morning person, this is the ideal beach for you, since it’s known for epic sunrises.
Koh Lipe is so small, you can even see some sunset from Sunrise Beach.
Words of Caution
If you’re looking for a beach club vibe and nightly fire shows, this is probably not the best place for you. Pattaya Beach is the place to stay for that kind of action. You can check for hotels on Pattaya Beach on Booking OR Agoda.
I’d caution against booking one of the Grandview Bungalows, if you have mobility issues. They are built on a hill and there are quite a few stairs to climb to reach them. We managed them ok with our 3 year old, but she definitely needed help and support to get up and down them everyday.
You’ll have to navigate some stairs to get to the Grandview Bungalows.
Booking at Ten Moons Lipe Resort
If you’ve decided you want to stay at Ten Moons Lipe Resort, the single most important thing you need to do is book early. I’m not kidding when I say that the Beachfront Bungalows are fully reserved pretty much all year round.
In our case, we foolishly booked just 5 out of the 7 nights we had in Koh Lipe in advance, thinking we could just extend if we needed to. We were visiting right at the beginning of shoulder season after all. But it simply wasn’t the case. It was fully booked, and we were forced to spend our last 2 days elsewhere.
We really wanted to stay at Ten Moons longer, but it just wasn’t possible.
