“Blending In” with the Locals
When traveling, we like to express ourselves by “blending in” with the locals as much as possible. 😉
On a trip to India and Sri Lanka, my friend Sarah and I found plenty of opportunities to mingle with residents of Bangalore, Mysore, and Colombo.
How do you think we did? Did we blend in? 😉
My Wanderlusty Life
You definitely don’t hold your tea cup the way they do 😉
Lol…amongst other things… 😉
Funny post! I’m not sure if your blended in but had a great time! That’s what matters. 🙂
We did have a great time! I’m not too sure how happy the people around us were, but we were laughing at least. 😀
There is nothing more I love than to blend in with the locals on travel, that is for sure! And your pictures are so funny!
I love your blog and posts so much that I have nominated you for 4 blog awards. Haha, yes 4! But it is up to you if you want to accept it! No pressure!
Wow 4 awards!! Thank you Hanne. I’m honoured! <3 Lol…I must admit though that I'm terrible at writing up these awards and have yet to do one, but you have inspired me…and I think I may create a giant awards post myself!! 😀
Well you may not really blend in very well but in my experience those big smiles and friendly attitudes go a long way with locals. Great photos!
Thanks Sue! 🙂 Interacting with the people of the country I’m visiting is definitely one of my favourite things about traveling (besides the food), and it’s particularly fun in India. I find people there are always so warm, friendly and curious.
Great pics. I remember those bus journeys in Asia, sitting in the aisles 🙂
Bus journeys in Asia are certainly always memorable! We were so happy to get seats, even if they were in the aisles… that bus ride was looooong. 🙂
hahaha, you guys need to practice your scowling expressions to blend into that last one! 🙂
Right!? Lol, the guy in the front looks ready to kill. Yikes!
I LOST IT when I saw the last picture. aahahahhaa.
Lol…I have to say that people were not very impressed with us, but we had to make that “luxury” ac bus ride tolerable somehow….. 😉
Ahihihi The first pic is just, hate to say this popular word, … epic! 😀
Those poor guys didn’t even know what hit them! Hahahaha. Too much fun. 😀
🙂 Blending indeed!!!
We’re just like chameleons, don’t you think Tina? 😉
This is indeed an expression showing concern. Wonderful 🙂
Thanks Sia! It was lots of fun for us. 😀
who are the locals btw? 🙂
Lol…honestly I’m not sure. We chased those poor guys down in the train station to drink chai with us. Heh heh. 😉
That bus picture is so great!
I agree, love the bus photo!!
Yeahh i gree.
Haha, thanks! We were having fun, even though the others on the bus weren’t very happy with us…. 😉
Mani (A New Life Wandering)
Haha, great pictures!
Thanks Mani! I think India is probably my favourite place in the world to take pics. 😀
Lol, if you wear a sari, then, maybe..haha..a bit hard to blend in here don’t you think? ?
Lol whaddya mean? I thought we were doing a very good job. 😉
Haha..wellll, if you say so…?
