49 Delightful Things to do Indoors in Seoul when it’s Cold, Hot, or Raining in Korea

From torrential rain to blistering heat to toxic pollution, and even a small earthquake that shook my apartment – I’ve survived 13 years of constantly changing weather conditions in Korea. I’m always on the lookout for incredible things to do indoors in Seoul that’ll keep both myself AND my daughter entertained.

Rain in Seoul is no joke during summer.

Now, I’m sharing it all with you in this super extensive guide to ALL the wonderful indoor activities in Seoul that I could think of. Keep this list handy. It’ll see you through all those difficult weather days in South Korea!

Things to do Indoors in Seoul

After months of planning, you’re finally on your dream trip to Korea and the weather isn’t cooperating. It probably feels like the end of the world.

It isn’t! Don’t let yourself fall into a grey sky depression. From themed cafes to luxurious spas to unique DIY classes, there’s enough indoor activities in Seoul to fill a year of rainy days. REALLY.

Oh yeah, I AM a ninja! At least at the Alive Museum in Insadong.

With 4 dramatically different seasons, Korea’s climate can feel extreme. It doesn’t really matter when you’re visiting – you’ll need to be prepared with an arsenal of things to do indoors in Seoul to deal with days that are too hot, polluted, cold, or rainy in Korea.

Autumn is my favourite time of year in Korea.

Best Indoor Activities in Seoul for Kids

I’m a mom and I totally get it. When you’re trapped indoors by hot, polluted, or rainy days in Seoul, it’s enough to make you AND your kids crawl up the walls. It’s a double bummer because you’ve likely traveled thousands of miles for what’s supposed to be your perfect vacation in South Korea.

This little peanut forces me to do all the indoor things in Seoul.

Don’t worry! I’ve got you covered with the BEST things to do indoors in Seoul with kids. And well… I’ve actually DONE these activities with my daughter, so you can trust that these indoor attractions are tried and tested.

This list is by no means exhaustive – they’re just ones we particularly enjoyed. You’ll find plenty more family-friendly indoor activities in Seoul further down in this guide.

Seoul Museum of Craft Art | 서울공예박물관

Address: 4 Yulgok-ro 3-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul | 서울시 종로구 율곡로 3길 4

The Seoul Museum of Craft Art has an excellent, experiential Craft Village designed just for kids! Divided into 2 separate floors, indoor activities in Seoul include: a Woodcraft Studio, Ceramic Studio, Metalcraft Studio, Clothes Studio, and Open Studio.

All materials are provided totally free of charge, so you can literally just show up, with nothing in hand.

You ARE required to have a reservation to visit Craft Village however. When we went, we just walked in, asked about available times, and got lucky with some open slots. If you want more certainty, international visitors ONLY can make reservations by calling +82-2-6450-7000.

Lotte World | 롯데월드

Address: 240, Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul | 서울특별시 송파구 올림픽로 240

Lotte World is the world’s largest indoor amusement park, so you just know it’s a great indoor activity in Seoul for a less than perfect day. There are a ton of rides for all ages, parades, performances, restaurants, cafes, and other amenities inside, so you really CAN spend an entire day indoors easily.

I should know. We had annual passes last year, and spent wayyyy more time indoors on humid or rainy days in Seoul, at Lotte World, than a normal human probably should. 😉

We’ve visited Lotte World for every event and holiday.

If you want to brave the rain, head out to the Disney-esque Magic Island, which is the outdoor portion of Lotte World. When you’re done with the theme park, check out the nearby Folk Museum, or go skating at their indoor ice rink.

Lotte World is one of the indoor attractions in Seoul that really makes the Discover Seoul Pass worthwhile. If you’re not interested in that, be sure to pick up discounted tickets in advance to save nearly 40% off the regular price.

Finger Candy | 핑거캔디

A candy making experience at the adorable family-owned Finger Candy is the perfect, uplifting indoor activity in Seoul, sure to make any kid happy on a rainy day in Korea.

Like a kid in a candy store. Oh wait…

Learning how to sculpt and create all the different types of candy is a total blast. There are separate classes for 6-7 year olds, and for 8-14 year olds. Parents are allowed in the workshop room to help younger children with any parts that might be too complicated or difficult for them.

The teacher is super sweet and explains things in a clear, easy to follow manner. Is IS possible to follow along without speaking any Korean, but the teacher has spent a bit of time in Australia, so communication is not overly complicated.

While Finger Candy isn’t technically in Seoul, it’s super easy to get to using public transit. Make a reservation (required) by calling 0507-1377-3995, or booking on Naver.

Kids Cafes | 키즈 카페

Address: All over Seoul!

Kids cafes are one of the best indoor activities in Seoul for families needing a little rest combined with active play time. They are literally a parent’s dream. After all, what could be better than letting your children run wild in a safe, dry place, while you relax and chat with a friend over coffee.

Let the kids run around while you enjoy coffee with a friend.

Lest you think kids cafes are only for small children, let me assure you, these are one of the most popular things to do indoors in Seoul for all ages. As my daughter has grown, we’ve graduated from baby cafes like Pororo Park to Super Parks that even adults can enjoy.

Vaunce has fun indoor activities for all ages.

These are some of the kids cafe chains with multiple locations around Seoul. Search for them on Naver Maps to find the location closest to you. You can also simply search “kids cafe,” or “키즈 카페” to check out reviews, see pictures, and find a place near you. Kids cafes are literally everywhere in Korea.

Kids Cafes for Younger Kids

These kids cafes have multiple locations around the city and are designed for younger children to play safely. I’d say that kids up to the age of 5 or 6 could play in these indoor attractions in Seoul without getting bored – even 7 or 8, if you visit with a friend.

Super Parks for Older Kids and Adults

In recent years, these huge super parks have become one of the best indoor things to do in Seoul for families. With climbing walls, trampolines, zip lines, VR games, and more, it’s possible to visit over and over again without getting bored.

Climbing to the top of these poles is challenging!

Best for kids in elementary school and older, don’t be surprised to find groups of adults enjoying the facilities too!

Cafe Geobugi & Kupet | 카페 거부기 앤 쿠펫

Address: Famious Mall B1, 18 Changup-ro, Sujeong-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi | 경기 성남시 수정구 창업로 18 파미어스몰 B1

From Alpaca World to a meerkat cafe, it seems like there’s a billion and one unique animal experiences to be had in Korea. Cafe Geobugi (turtle in Korean) is no different – with one big exception. There’s no age requirement to visit, unlike other animal cafes in Seoul.

At the Geobugi Cafe, you can hang out, observe, and feed a ton of turtles in 3 separate pens (there must be at least 30 of them). Our kids loved touching their shells, and watching as the turtles stretched their necks out to eat the lettuce offered to them.

Feeding turtles is a fun indoor activity in Seoul.

Admission at the Turtle Cafe is just 10,000 won per person, with no time limit, and includes either an Americano or 5,000 won discount on any of the drinks on their menu. Cups of veggies to feed the turtles are 3,500 won.

If you want to take it to the next level, sign up for the experiential activity that allows you to feed, hold, and pet a variety of other reptiles, including lizards and snakes! Cost: 40,000 won for a group of up to 4 people.

This is a great thing to do indoors in Seoul because the Geobugi Cafe is located inside a mall, so there are nearby restaurants (most close by 8PM), a movie theatre, and shopping available as well.

This cafe isn’t technically in Seoul, but it IS accessible via bus. If you drive, they’ll validate your parking for up to 4 hours.

Best Indoor Attractions in Seoul

No matter what the weather conditions are, marquee attractions like Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village should have a place on your Seoul itinerary.

However, should you get tired of sweating buckets, battling the wind and rain, or breathing in bad air, these are some of the best indoor attractions in Seoul to check out.

Lotte World Tower Seoul Sky Observatory | 롯데월드타워 서울스카이

Address: 300, Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul | 서울특별시 송파구 올림픽로 300

The stunning Seoul Sky Observatory sits on the very top floors of Lotte World Tower. This is Korea’s tallest building, and the 5th tallest building in the world.

With Korean calligraphy as its inspiration, it has breathtaking panoramic views, transparent floors, an outdoor Sky Terrace, and a thrilling Sky Bridge experience. These are the best views in Seoul, without a doubt.

I don’t recommend visiting the Seoul Sky Observatory on a polluted or rainy day in Seoul however. You won’t see a thing… and isn’t that kinda the point?

No, this gorgeous indoor attraction in Seoul is best enjoyed on a scorching hot day, with epically clear skies, where you can enjoy ac blasting at -500 degrees, and views that go on for as far as the eye can see.

The views really do go on for miles and miles.

Dongdaemun Design Plaza | 동대문디자인플라자

Address: 281 Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul | 서울특별시 중구 을지로 281 (을지로7가)

If it’s a rainy day in Seoul, equip yourself with an umbrella, and brave the downpour for at least a few moments – because this spaceship in the middle of the city is a must-see for any architecture buffs, artists, and designers looking to be wowed by something truly amazing.

Fortunately though, the DDP is much more than just a cool building. It’s an important social and cultural hub, with an ongoing series of compelling things to do indoors in Seoul, including exhibitions, events, and shows. There’s even a kids cafe inside!

Gwangjang Market | 광장시장

Address: 88, Changgyeonggung-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul | 서울특별시 종로구 창경궁로 88

There are traditional markets all over the city, but Gwangjang is one of the oldest and biggest, with a wholesale market selling traditional products like hanbok, fabrics, imported goods, groceries, and more.

Gwangjang Market is a covered traditional market, full of life and Korean street food!

The street food area of Gwangjang Market is undoubtedly one of the most popular things to do indoors in Seoul, whether the weather is perfect or not.

Lively and affordable, this is literally the perfect place to try out all the Korean street foods you can think of in one place, including bindaetteok, mayak kimbap, tteokbokki, kalguksu, and more.

You’ll find Korean street food galore at Gwangjang Market.

And yes, this is where the Netflix lady from the Korea episode of Street Food has her stall. She’s become quite the celebrity, and lines to eat at her stall can be long. My opinion? The food is pretty much the same all over Gwangjang Market. Grab a pic and move on.

HiKR Ground | 하이커 그라운드

Address: 40, Cheonggyecheon-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul | 서울특별시 중구 청계천로 40

If you’re riding the Hallyu Wave into Korea, HiKR Ground is definitely the indoor attraction in Seoul for you. Admission to the 5 story “playground” full of K-pop, media art, and immersive experiences is free.

After seeing the large-scale HiKR media art wall by Lee Lee-nam, head to the 2nd floor, dedicated to all things K-pop, where you can plan, direct, and shoot your own K-pop music video, using extended reality technology.

On the 3rd floor, see exhibitions by major Korean artists, before heading up to a medical and wellness hub on the 4th floor to analyze your brainwaves, assess skin health, and discover your specific “tea type” (if there is such a thing).

Be sure to make a stop at the HiKR Lounge on the 5th floor to get help with all your travel planning, then recharge at Cafe Knotted, with coffee and doughnuts.

The Sool Gallery | 전통주 갤러리

Looking for somewhere to drown your sorrows on a rainy day in Seoul? The Sool Gallery is the perfect indoor attraction in Seoul to do just that.

This unique museum showcases a variety of traditional and seasonal Korean alcoholic beverages, and since it’s operated by the Korean government, it also offers a totally FREE alcohol tasting experience. From soju to makgeolli, the quality will be significantly higher than what you might’ve had in a restaurant or convenience store.

Seoul Indoor Activities | Aquariums & Zoos

Visiting an aquarium is a great indoor activity in Seoul, especially if you’re traveling with kids. Fortunately, there are quite a few to choose from. The aquariums in Seoul I’ve recommended here are in malls that are directly connected to a subway station, so you don’t even have to walk outside to reach them!

Aquariums are a great place to spend a rainy day in Seoul.

Lotte World Aquarium | 롯데월드 아쿠아리움

When my daughter was younger, we spent a ton of time at the Lotte World Aquarium on super hot and humid summer days in Seoul. With over 55,000 sea creatures to learn about, huge tanks to be awed by, and tons of space to run around in, the Lotte World Aquarium is a great inside activity in Seoul for the entire family.

The Play Ocean area at Lotte World Aquarium has hands-on activities for kids.

Coex Aquarium | 코엑스 아쿠아리움

Address: 513, Yeongdong-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul | 서울특별시 강남구 영동대로 513

Free entry into Coex Mall Aquarium is included with the Discover Seoul Pass, so if you’ve picked one up for your Korea trip, this is the aquarium to go to. Fortunately, it’s one of the most popular indoor activities in Seoul, with over 40,000 creatures from 650 species, populating its tanks.

The Coex Mall Aquarium also holds the distinction of being the largest shark habitat in Korea, with 110 sharks from 17 different species.

Zoolung Zoolung Indoor Animal Theme Park | 주렁주렁

Address: 4th Floor, Times Square, 15 Youngjung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul | 서울 영등포구 영중로 15 타임스퀘어 4층매표소, 5층입구

Zoolung Zoolung is essentially a fenceless indoor zoo, with over 50 species from the Amazon and Africa. At the theme park, you can sign up for experiential activities, enjoy a 3D video art show, and even touch some of the animals yourself.

Even better? It’s located INSIDE Times Square Mall and near the Hyundai, so you can easily combine a trip to one of these huge malls with a visit to Zoolung Zoolung, for even MORE indoor activities in Seoul. Grab discounted tickets here.

Aquaplanet 63 + 63 Art | 아쿠아플라넷 63 + 63 아트

I recently visited Aquaplanet 63, and while I wasn’t overly impressed with the aquarium itself (it’s very small), they do have unique live mermaid performances, which my daughter loved.

The Aquaplanet 63 admission ticket is usually bundled with entry into 63Art, and its great value for the combo ticket – especially since re-entry privileges are included for the aquarium.

This gallery is located on the 60th floor of the 63 Building, and has wonderful views of Seoul from high above. Perfect for a hot, clear summer day, when you prefer to stay cool at an indoor attraction in Seoul.

If you’re a Grand Budapest Hotel fan, Max Dalton’s “Moments in Film,” is on there until the end of October. I thoroughly enjoyed this exhibit!

I live in Songpa-gu, so I’ve spent the bulk of my mall time at Starfield Coex Mall in Gangnam and Lotte World Mall in Jamsil. I’ll cover these in more detail, since I’m most familiar with all the indoor attractions in Seoul available at these particular malls.

There’s a ton of outdoor AND indoor activities in Seoul at Starfield Coex Mall.

Starfield Coex Mall | 스타필드 코엑스몰

If you’re looking for a variety of things to do indoors in Seoul, Starfield Coex Mall is a good bet. Shop till you drop, take gorgeous pictures for you feed at the iconic Starfield Library, get tossed around at a 4D movie at the Megabox Movie Theatre, or see sharks at Coex Aquarium.

Lotte World Mall and Lotte Mall

You could easily spend a couple of days doing things indoors in Seoul, at these 2 adjacent Lotte malls in Jamsil. I should know. These malls are a few blocks from my apartment, and I’ve probably spent weeks and weeks inside, wandering around with my daughter when it’s polluted or raining in Seoul.

You can reach both Lotte Malls from Jamsil subway station.

I’ve already covered indoor attractions in Seoul, like Lotte World Adventure, and Lotte World Aquarium, but here’s what else you can do at the Lotte Malls, besides shopping and eating. I’ll break them down by mall.

Kidzania is cool, but only if you’re reasonably fluent in Korean.

Indoor Activities in Seoul | Live Performances

There are many musicals, plays, performances, and concerts happening at indoor venues in Seoul at any given moment. I’ll recommend some popular shows, but trust me, there’s a lot more selection than what I’ve listed here. Check Interpark Global for more ideas.

There are performances, big and small, happening all the time in Seoul.

Saturday Gugak Concert | 국립국악원

Address: 2364, Nambusunhwan-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul | 서울특별시 서초구 남부순환로 2364

The Saturday Gugak Concert is one of the best value performances you can see in Seoul. Taking place at the wonderful National Gugak Centre in Seocho, you can get a taste of Korea’s 4 distinct traditional performing arts on a single stage, at a truly incredible price.

When the concert is finished, be sure to explore the FREE National Gugak Museum, where you can try out a number of different instruments and activities.

This venue is also right next door to the Seoul Arts Centre, which has its own huge line-up of performances, cafes, restaurants, and more on-site. Best of all – these are all things to do indoors in Seoul!

The National Gugak Center Museum is free and experiential.

Nanta | 난타

Address (Myeongdong Theatre): 26, Myeongdong-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul | 서울특별시 중구 명동길 26 (명동2가)

Nanta is a non-verbal performance with acrobatics, comedy, and percussion using kitchen utensils, so it can be enjoyed by absolutely everyone, including non-Korean speakers.

With theatres in Myeongdong, Hongdae, Chungjeongno, and on Jeju Island, it’s easy to grab tickets and enjoy a performance of Korea’s longest-running show.

Indoor Activities in Seoul | Museums

There are excellent museums all over the city, ranging from fine art, to experiential, to quirky. With free exhibits and gorgeous architecture, visiting a museum is an affordable and interesting thing to do indoors in Seoul.

The National Museum of Korea is free to visit!

If you have kids, be sure to check for special Children’s Museums. Many are attached to the main museums and offer specialized interactive exhibits designed specifically for children to learn and be entertained.

From cooking classes to custom lipstick, there’s an excellent variety of classes you can sign up for if you want to learn something new,

Hanji Culture and Industry Center | 한지문화산업센터

This modern and refreshing space was created to promote the Korean hanji paper industry, with artful displays, workshops, and seminars. On the first floor, you can explore and touch different types of hanji paper.

Explore traditional paper at the Hanji Culture and Industry Center.

In the basement workshop space, you can make a hanji paper bookmark, or a hanji paper mobile. This is an excellent indoor activity in Seoul for adults and slightly older kids who want to use their hands and focus on something for a period of time (the mobile takes 90 – 120 minutes to complete).

There’s quite a bit of folding and glueing, but younger kids can also do this with a parent’s help. My daughter is 7, and she managed most of the mobile herself.

A reservation system has been put in place on Naver, but it’s worth just showing up and checking if there’s a spot available. That’s what we did, and we were able to head right in. The staff are wonderful, speak english, and all materials are provided.

K-Beauty Classes and Experiences

Shopping for Korean skincare products is top of the list for most visitors to Seoul with good reason. Affordable, high quality, and literally everywhere you turn – it’s hard to resist.

Things to do Indoors in Seoul | Pamper Yourself

In my mind, some of the best things to do indoors in Seoul are of the pampering variety. With the weather so uncooperative, you might as well spend at least a little time treating yourself, right?

A little pampering on a rainy day in Seoul is a good thing.

Korean Facials

By now, there isn’t a person on the planet unfamiliar with Korean skincare, right? Personally, I can’t think of a much better way to avoid a rainy day in Seoul than getting a Korean facial massage.

When it’s steamy outside, a seshin or body scrub in the mogyoktang area of the Korean sauna is just the ticket! There’s nothing better for scrubbing all that grime off your skin, after a day of sweating in Seoul’s hot and humid summer months. Trust me.

Things to Do Indoors in Seoul | Themed Cafes

I would seriously question any guide to indoor attractions in Seoul, that doesn’t include themed cafes. There are just so many unique and interesting places for a caffeine run in the city, that I really think you could fill weeks of time just hopping from cool cafe to cool cafe, when it’s raining in Seoul.

There is no shortage of cool cafes in Korea.

You’ve probably already run across popular cafes like Cheongsudang, Cafe Onion Anguk, 943 Kings Cross, and the Poop Cafe, while planning your trip to Seoul. They’re definitely worth your time – just be prepared to possibly wait in line.

And while visiting themed cafes is undoubtedly one of the best things to do indoors in Seoul, just be sure to confirm that they are still open before going, because things change fast in Seoul. (For example, the iconic Seoulism Cafe has transformed into an event space now.)

Aqua Garden & Cafe | 아쿠아가든 & 카페

Aqua Garden Cafe is an underwater world full of stunning aquariums that are works of art, the sound of falling water, and a variety of marine animals. This is a great indoor activity in Seoul for when you just need some time to relax.

You’d never expect to find such a gorgeous place in the basement of a mall, would you?

The cost of admission is the price of 1 drink per person, your time there is unlimited, and re-entry is possible with your receipt.

Peach Gray | 피치그레이

Address: 25 Songpa-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul | 서울특별시 송파구 송파동25, 2층

Peach Gray Cafe is on the back streets near Lotte World Tower, in an industrial feeling area. A palette of watercolour paints and wet pens are served up with every drink order, so you can get all meditative while listening to the steady beat of raindrops outside.

Since the place is tiny (only about 15 seats), it can take 20 minutes to get an order of their fluffy souffle style pancakes if its busy, but you can sip on a pretty drink, paint, and watch the world go by while you wait.

One downfall (or plus, depending on who you ask I suppose) is that this indoor activity in Seoul is a kid-free zone, meaning only those ages 10 and up are allowed inside.

Peach Gray is a tiny space. Prepare to wait on busy days.

Rain Report | 호우주의보

When it’s raining in Seoul, it seems incongruous to make a special trip to a cafe that’s big draw is rain, but you won’t regret it. Rain Report just opened in June, and it’s already a feed worthy hotspot. This is an unforgettable thing to do indoors in Seoul.

If you need more rain in your life, head to Rain Report Cafe.

At this gorgeous minimalist cafe, it rains 365 days a year… guaranteed!

Inside the cafe, enjoy the meditative sound of dripping water,, while sipping on signature drinks, like the beautiful Sesame Cloud, then head outdoors to their terrace area to get caught in a rain shower, every 15 minutes.

No need to bring an umbrella – transparent ones are provided on site (cuz you know you’re gonna have to take some pictures, right?

Greem Cafe | 그림카페

Address: Seoul, Mapo-gu, Seongmisan-ro, 161-10 | 서울 마포구 성미산로 161-10

By now, there aren’t many who haven’t seen pictures of this ultra-cool 2D cafe. There are now locations all over Korea, and internationally in places like Doha, and Riyadh, but the Greem Cafe in Seoul is the original.

The 2D world of Greem has to be seen.

Painted to mimic a real-life cartoon, Greem Cafe really has to be seen to be believed. I was amazed the first time I walked in! This is an excellent indoor thing to do in Seoul if you’re looking for insta-worthy pictures for your feed.

Animal Cafes

Snuggling with some furry friends is a great indoor activity in Seoul to deal with any bad weather blues. From cats to sheep to meerkats, this crazy city has got them all!

Ever wanted to get up close and personal with a meerkat?

While the meerkat and sheep cafe are pretty unique, there are many more dog and cat cafes than I’ve listed here. Do a quick search on Naver Maps for cat or dog cafes once you’re on the ground in Korea, and you’ll find many, many more.

Just be sure to confirm age limits, specific rules, and opening times before heading to these indoor activities in Seoul.

When it’s a grey, rainy day in Seoul, it’s time for some fun activities to pull you out of any cloudy funk. Fortunately, there’s a lot of options.

Noraebang | 노래방

Noraebang is an important part of Korean culture, and one of the most popular things to do indoors in Seoul – for people from ALL walks of life.

Contrary to the possible public humiliation of traditional karaoke, noraebang is an experience to be enjoyed with friends, family, or co-workers in the privacy of a soundproofed room. With thousands of songs to choose from, you’re sure to have a blast.

There are various types of noraebang, from cheaper coin noraebang (where you pay by the song) to bigger, fancier (more expensive) noraebangs that serve alcohol and food. Whatever your preference, you won’t have trouble finding one in Seoul. They are literally everywhere!

Board Game Cafes | 보드게임카페

Board game cafes are the perfect thing to do indoors in Seoul. Affordable, fun, and packed with a variety of different games to choose from, it’s a great way to get away from all the screens for a short period of time.

Board game cafes are a fun, affordable way to pass a rainy day in Seoul.

There’s usually a large selection of board games to choose from in both Korean and English, and rates are charged per hour. You can also order drinks and snacks. Board game cafes can be found in every major neighbourhood in Seoul – but here are a few well-known ones.

• Holmes and Lupin: Sherlock Holmes inspired board game cafe, with locations all over Korea
• Retro Game Bar: A bar in Hongdae with both video and board games
• Red Button Board Game Cafe: Known for excellent service, locations all over Korea – most games are in Korean (so should know the game already or have a good translator handy)

Legend Heroes | 레전드 히어로즈

Get your body moving at this indoor activity in Seoul that combines sports and virtual reality. Play baseball, soccer, archery, bowling, candy slash, and more using sports equipment (provide on site), and a sensor screen. This is an appropriate activity for most age groups, but some of the sports might be difficult for young children.

Legend Heroes is a ton of indoor fun!

A 60 minute pass for unlimited games at Legend Heroes is 13,000 won, and a 90 minute pass is 16,000 won (to give you an idea).

Arcade / Oraksil | 오락실

One of my favourite childhood memories in Korea is going to the oraksil (arcade) and playing Galaga (yeah, I’m def dating myself now). Oraksil have developed quite a bit since those days, but they’re still absolutely everywhere, so it’s easy to find one.

Oraksil have a huge variety of games to play.

Almost every oraksil I’ve been to recently has claw machines, air hockey, video game consoles, and movement games like Dance Dance Revolution. You’ll need cash to play games at the arcade, but there are always change machines on-site.

PC Bang

If you’ve got a major gamer in your travel group, a PC Bang might be the ideal indoor activity in Seoul to keep them entertained for hours on end.

A PC bang (room) allows users to play multiplayer computer games on super powerful gaming computers, at incredibly affordable hourly prices. Most PC bangs are open 24 hours a day, have snacks and drinks, and are a great place to meet other gamers.

Sure sports are usually better played in fresh air, under bright sunshine, but when that isn’t an option – check out these indoor sporting activities in Seoul.

Bowling | 볼링

Bowling is a popular indoor activity in Seoul for couples, families, and groups of friends. There are regular bowling lanes, neon lit alleys, and huge entertainment centres with bowling, billiards, and arcade games combined.

Get the gutters raised if you’re bowling with kids.

Here are a few to look into, but there are many more.

Archery | 양궁

Check out the Olympic medal totals for archery (27 out of 45 possible golds), and you know that South Korea is a country that takes archery seriously. You’ll be spoiled for choice if you’re looking for for a fun indoor activity in Seoul, that’s new and exciting.

• Robin Hood Archery Cafe: High quality equipment, lessons, and coffee or tea in a relaxed environment. Mutliple locations.
• Real Shot: Indoor shooting ranges for archery, rifles, handguns. Multiple locations.
• Mokdong Archery Club (Yonghakgeong): This was once the site of a military training ground. Has a membership system, but one-off lessons can be reserved in advance. Both Western and Korean archery bows available.
