Vibrant: All the Gelato
In Italy, pizza and panini are humble fast foods that can be found on almost every street corner. Whether it’s a chewy slice covered in an ideal combination of salami, olives and porcini, or a sandwich stuffed with the most exquisite tomatoes, mozzarella and basil on earth, a delicious snack is never too far away.
Fortunately for my waistline, the Italian idea of fast food still means fresh, vibrant, nutritious and flavourful, and I could indulge whenever my heart, or rather, stomach desired.
Of course, if I had to choose one Italian specialty to eat all day long, it’d be gelato all the way. Pistacchio ice cream that actually tastes like pistachios, and a simple, but never boring stracciatella, satisfies me every time.
Now if I could just get that husband of mine to share his amerana and frutti di bosco scoops with me, I’d never be forced to choose just 2.
Gelato in Italy is to die for! Have you had a scoop? What are your favourite flavours?
