Rome: Our First Week in Pictures

It’s hard to believe that we’ve already been in Rome for 9 days. The time is going fast and slow at the same time, like we’ve been here forever, yet 9 days have already passed.

Does anyone else have this strange timeless feeling when they travel?

It’s been 4 long years since we were in Italy, and let me tell you, it’s amazing to be back soaking in the beautiful Mediterranean sunshine, eating fantastic pizza and being astonished by the magnificence of the city. What is it about the light in this part of the world?

I’ve got a ton of stories and experiences to share with you, but unfortunately posting will be a little sporadic for the next few months. You know how it is. Traveling + an 8 month old. However, we’ll be continuing to post regularly on Instagram and Facebook, so feel free to join us on our European adventures there. We’d love to see you! 🙂

  1. Beautiful photos! I agree about the quality of the light over there… and the color of the sky! Such an intense blue! Have a great time 🙂

    • The quality of the light here does help you to understand why some of the world’s greatest artists have come from this region, doesn’t it? Some of the pictures I take on my phone look like paintings, because of the light. And you’re right, the blue of the sky is so so vivid. 😀

  2. Why oh why you had to post the picture of the pizza. You know here the best pizza you can usually get is the deep frozen ones from the supermarket…we need to drive a couple of hgours to the next city if we want some good food. I guess this is the downside when living in a small town 🙁

    • Wow…that sounds really terrible, cuz sometimes you really just crave a good pizza, don’t you? In Seoul, it’s possible to get great pizza, but it’s usually quite expensive. Italy is so amazing, cuz it’s just fast food – on every corner really – and it’s so delicious and cheap at the same time! 🙂

  3. I love Rome so much. It’s nearly impossible to get a bad meal there. And I adore the ice-cream, could eat it all day!

  5. So many comments on pizza, and I’ll have to just add to them. Yes, pizza is life, and that perfectly browned cheese and crust are what I keep looking at in your post. Naia is cute enough to gobble up herself, but the pizza … oh, the pizza! Keep having fun – what a great place to be this summer!

    • Yes, the pizza is definitely one big bonus of visiting Rome, and we’ve been indulging so much that *gasp* I started craving something different. Terribly spoiled, isn’t it? Had to eat some Chinese food to break up all the pizza and pasta. Haha. 😉

      • Oh, I get it! After three weeks in China (and loving the food), I needed a pizza! (A good one was hard to find …)
