It’s the perfect place to watch the sky change colours behind the financial district, and the night view of the Parc1 twin towers lit up with their signature bright red stripes, next to the Seouldal tethered balloon is nothing less than iconic.
If you’re travelling with family, it’s also a fantastic free water playground right at Yeouido Hangang Park to take your kids to splash around and cool off in. Despite it being on the opposite end of where I live in Seoul, I find myself at Yeouido Mulbit Square over and over again on hot, summer days. It’s truly the perfect spot to hang out whenever it’s unbearably hot and humid in Korea.

This is definitely one of the best free water playgrounds in Yeouido, where kids (and adults) can splash around safely. While the water is shallow enough for toddlers, Mulbit Plaza itself is huge, and features such gigantic spraying fountains that even older kids don’t get bored. Whenever we go to the Yeouido water playground, my daughter and her friends disappear there literally for hours at a time.
It’s great because there’s food options available beyond the typical convenience store ramyeon like chicken skewers and Korean street food. The water playground at Yeouido is also really easy to get to using public transit. Just hop off the subway and take a quick walk over to Mulbit Square.
One of the absolute best things about this splashpad in Yeouido though is the view of the riverfront against the skyline, which rivals the evening views you get at the Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain further down the river. It’s beyond gorgeous at sunset, and I’ve spent many summer days here, turning a lazy afternoon into a full night out under the stars.
The Best Time to Visit Yeouido Mulbit Square
You need to time your trip to the water playground at Yeouido right if you want to see the fountains actually spraying.
The schedule shifts depending on which month it is, so turning up at the wrong time means you’ll just end up staring at a dry concrete slab. It isn’t complicated to figure out, but there’s a couple of weekly cleaning days and seasonal schedules to keep in mind before you head out.

The timing slots in the table above simply show when the big water jets and cascading fountains switch on to spray into the air. They only run for thirty minutes at a time before resting for the second half of the hour, so don’t panic if you arrive and everything looks quiet for a few minutes. You can always sit down and dip your feet in the water to cool off.
What to Pack for the Yeouido Splash Pad & Water Playground
You don’t need to pack a ton of gear to have a good day at Mulbit Square in Yeouido, but throwing a few simple things into a daypack will keep you comfortable, and make your day stress-free.
While Yeouido Hangang Park is surrounded by convenient spots to grab hot food and cold drinks, arriving with your own swim gear saves you a lot of running around looking for things like picnic mats. And if you want a proper meal after the kids finish splashing around, you can take a flat, 600 metre stroll to eat at the Ashley Queens buffet before heading out to enjoy panoramic skyline views from the Han River instead.

Where is Yeouido Mulbit Square & How to Get There via Seoul Subway
Because Yeouido Hangang Park covers so much ground, you’ll want to be intentional about which subway station you get off at.
A lot of apps will give you a route to Yeouido Station, but if you get off there, you’ll have a long, hot walk through the financial district just to reach Yeouido Hangang Park. Stick to Yeouinaru Station on Line 5 instead. It’ll drop you right at the edge of the riverbank, and from there it’s just a short, flat stroll past the food stalls to reach the Yeouido water plaza.

Driving to Yeouido Hangang Park can be a bit of a nightmare on weekends, but if you do bring a car, make sure to put the right parking lots into your navigation app.
The park has multiple parking zones, but aim specifically for either Parking Lot 2 or Parking Lot 3. Mulbit Square sits right in the middle of these two specific lots, but be warned that they fill up incredibly fast once the afternoon crowds arrive. Try to get there earlier in the day to avoid spending all day in a bumper-to-bumper line.
